WANTED - The Gunner

WANTED by Sapateiro Boutique Winery is a series of wines I decided to make that don’t necessarily represent our (wine) region.

The concept behind the labels: A pirate crew that steals wines – those are their treasures. Each person on the crew has their personality and with it an associated wine. This was the second released wine of the WANTED edition.

About the wine: made mainly with two varieties that are not indigenous to the area -  Moscatel Galego and Gewurztraminer. This wine was aged 16 months in a used French oak barrel, and finished with 15% Arinto and 15% Alvarinho to add freshness.

Flavour profile: Exuberant white wine that is very tropical on the nose - think lychee and passion fruit; delicate and fresh on the mouth with a dry finish resembling elderflower.
